
Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate
Location: Raleigh, NC
Practice Group: Finance, Restructuring, and Bankruptcy
About the Role: A leading law firm is seeking a motivated associate to join its Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group in the Raleigh, NC office. The practice encompasses bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditor's rights, including representation in bankruptcy, workouts, restructurings, receiverships, collateral liquidations, commercial collections, and judgment enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Preparation:
- Draft Federal and State legal documents such as pleadings (motions, briefs, responses, complaints), proofs of claim, summonses, and discovery-related documents.
- Legal Research and Analysis:
- Research and analyze legal sources including statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
- Perform research and cite checking using Lexis and Westlaw.
- Evidentiary Hearings:
- Conduct research and prepare information for evidentiary hearings in federal and state court cases.
- Trial Support:
- Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and depositions to support and assist other attorneys.
- Correspondence:
- Manage routine calls and correspondence with attorneys, trustees, debtors, clients, and the Courts.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-6 years of experience in business bankruptcy, insolvency, and related litigation.
- Licensing: Must be licensed or eligible to be immediately licensed in North Carolina.
- Skills: Excellent academic credentials and outstanding written and oral communication skills.
